Teddy loves his teeth being cleaned. I am ashamed to admit that tooth-brushing had fallen by the wayside until last week when I was trying to tidy up Teddy’s beard. I pulled up his mucky moustaches and saw a stain decorating one long curved tooth. When we took Teddy for his initial puppy check-up, we were given a lesson on doggy tooth brushing using a preliminary toothbrush: a little cotton sock thing that slips on your finger. At the time we bought some chicken toothpaste (yum, yum) and I tried to get our nippy puppy to accept my massaging his gums without him trying to scoff the tiny sock. The good news is that when I re-introduced the finger sock/chicken toothpaste last week he was delighted and happily surrendered to a gentle gum-rub. Now that he is nearly one-year-old, I think a proper toothbrush is called for. I have ordered a Virbac Toothpaste Kit for Dogs which features the same doggy-delicious poultry toothpaste. Teddy, get ready for your close-up.
